Is this life all there is?
People hold many different beliefs about death. Christianity teaches that life has eternal significance and that we are accountable to the God who made us.
Jesus spoke about judgement and eternal life. Matthew 25:46 presents the seriousness of eternal consequences, while John 5:24 speaks about the promise of life through faith in Him.
Why does Christianity talk about sin?
The Bible says every person has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). It teaches that we cannot repair our separation from God simply by counting up good deeds.
That is why the Christian message begins with what God has done, not with a demand to become good enough on our own.
What did Jesus do?
Christians believe Jesus lived without sin, died on the cross for sinners, and rose again. Salvation is presented as a gift of God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 6:23).
Jesus did not merely offer advice about becoming more religious. He claimed to be the way to the Father (John 14:6). That claim deserves serious examination.
How should someone respond?
The New Testament calls people to repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15). That means turning towards God, trusting Jesus and following Him, rather than treating faith as only agreement with an idea.
You do not need polished words or every answer before beginning to seek God. Start by reading the Gospel of John, praying honestly and talking with a Christian who takes Scripture seriously.
If the claims of Jesus are true, is putting the question off really a neutral choice?
A place to begin
Read John 3, John 14 and Romans 3–6. Ask what Jesus is claiming, what the cross means, and how you should respond.
